June 08- Post Op and addition of Nasal Stents

Here is our little guy. His lip looks incredible. He hates his size 5 stents, but is managing. He will wear these for 3-6 months to create the skin under the nose and stretch as much as can be stretched. His scar from his surgery is minimal and amazes us!

Looking good! We will tape the area on top of the lip until late July.

Mommy and Reid. Love you, and we are so proud of you!

I just finished reading your story, and oh my goodness! I had no idea you guys had to go through all of that. That just breaks my heart for sweet little Reid. Your strength as parents is absolutely AMAZING! Ellie and Reid are so blessed to have you. I am blown away.

Thank you so much for sharing.

This will help so many people! I wish I had known about these blogs sooner. Luckily, I found some great mom's on myspace that were able to help me thru the process!

Your "venting" entry gave me chills. I'm glad that you found a new team for Reid -- and an amazing team at that! He's SUCH a CUTIE!!!

I love your blog, I found it when I was researching after I found out that our son has bilateral cleft lip and palate. He is now 4 mos. old and 3 weeks post op from his lip repair. We live in Michigan ( though I grew up in Chardon, OH) and our surgeon wants us to use the nasal stents as well. The problem as I am sure you know is that they don't stay in!!! He ends up with a ton of tape on his face and they still come out....any tips would be great!!! Reid looks great and I am anxious to hear how the palate repair went. Our son will have his palate done in Feb or Mar of 2010. Thanks!!!
